Transformers

A few weeks ago, I decided that my lovable and trusty Wendy was in need of a facelift.  Unfortunately, I am unskilled in the artistic ways, and fucked it up.  Here's how I did it it anyway!

Original Bike. Beautiful, beautiful Wendy - I'M SORRY!!!!

STEP 1: Guilt little brother into helping you take bike apart.  Nuts and bolts are difficult.  Apply masking tape to area that cannot be removed.

STEP 2: Sand within an inch of it's life - much more than I did, but I grew impatient!

STEP 3:  Wash down surface & let dry.  Then prime with 2 coats of white primer.  Let each coat dry for 24hours.

STEP 4:   USE SPRAY PAINT! I did not use spray paint because I couldn't find it in bright green.  Anyway, paint a necessary amount of coats until desired colour is achieved.

STEP 5:  Spray with a few coats of laceur, waiting approximately 30mins between each coat.  Notw:  I purchased "High gloss finish" - it worked out ok!  The laceur takes 1 week to dry and harden.  The high gloss finish takes 24hours.

STEP 6:  Grab yourself an Aidan to put the bike back together again (middle).

STEP 7:  When Aidan inevitably fails, bring to local bike shop, which in my case is Artaine Cycles.

STEP 8: Realise that your paint job is utterly shite so purchase stickers to distract admirers.  Stick stickers on.

STEP 9: TADA!!!

My once beautiful bike is now ugly as hell, but hey, at least nobody will rob it eh?
