There should be a module in college to prepare you for life. Bills, rent, jobs etc that's all fine. We started our grown up lives fresh-faced and eager to save the world, but those of use who were lucky enough to get jobs are corporate whores rather than idealistic hippies building wind farms to save the planet. What about the relationships you spend years building and watch them crumble between your fingers in a matter of seconds? What about those hard decisions nobody told you you would ever have to make? Moving out, moving in, moving away. What happens when there's no end of term, no summer holidays; only 21 days a year to travel the world and visit friends & family? What about when those friends are all forced to move abroad in search of work? Suddenly 21 days isn't enough time to visit everyone and Skyping becomes less and less frequent until you find yourself Facebook stalking them remembering somebody you used to know. What about when you see old friends doing amazing things with their lives and you want nothing more than to tell them how unbelievably proud you are of them but you can't, because those bridges are burned and they don't want to know you anymore? What about "In our deepest moments, we say the most insignificant things?" What happens when there's no days left to steal a quick weekend away in Galway? What happens when you can no longer afford to visit friends because the rent, the bills, the car loan got in the way? What happens when we've no more time to do the things we love because the current job climate requires us to be machines, do a bazillion hours or move on? How could we ever have prepared for this?
The Tetrapharmakos (τετραφάρμακος), or, "The four-part cure," is the Greek philosopher Epicurus' (341 BC, Samos –270 BC, Athens) recipe for leading the happiest possible life.
Don't fear god,
Don't worry about death;
What is good is easy to get, and
What is terrible is easy to endure

So many questions...
